Electro Voice Re20 Serial Number

(been in trouble at home for having gear lust again) Here you go Ivan: It really is just an RE20 in fatigues instead of dress uniform. There's no difference in sound and so far no difference in value. Some people do try to build up the PL20 as something rare and special (usually people trying to sell them!) but they're not special (apart from colour)and those I've bought have, if anything, been slightly cheaper than the going rate for RE20s, on the basis that they 'look crap' They are rarer than RE20s, and now discontinued and getting harder to find but the colour seems to be a disadvantage for more people than it's an advantage so prices don't seem to be benefiting from rarity value.
I've currently got three PL20s and two RE20s, which I think is about right for what I need at the moment. As I said, I like PLs for live work as they're not exactly small, and normal REs can be rather conspicuous, particularly under concert/TV lighting, though some people actually ask for the 'nicer looking' 'silver' mics for use on soloists and the PLs do attract comments about what made my mics go 'mouldy' (The most popular version I have for 'Sunday best' use is an RE27 which really is silver (and actually a nicer (but quite different) mic in may ways, and I'd swap the RE20s for them quite happily - but unfortunately they don't come in cowpat colour).
